Digital Media and Today's Society

Digital art is any form of imaging or art that a computer plays a role in. Anything from creating new landscapes to sci-fi creatures on a distant planet the possibilities are endless in the digital medium. A long time ago artists for comic books and magazines where having to draw up their ideas onto paper and use the images that they had created. Now with newer computer technology we are able to take that even further to make what we want to create even more realistic. Digital Art is created and stored in a non-material form on the computer's memory systems and must be made physical, usually in the form of prints on paper or some other form of printmaking. It is also a lot more portable. Digital images can be stored on external drives and transferred to any computer. Thus eliminating any paper waste from the environment. The digital media is also a field that is still growing, making way for new job opportunities and experiences for aspiring artists, advertisers, or others who wish to join this field. The internet is an ever-expanding entity, websites are created everyday for people to just surf the net. It seems like in today’s world, as long as you have a decent web idea, you can make money. Its incredible how our society has become so dependant on technology that we would be lost should someone decide to turn off the internet… Not only the amount of money, websites and fortune 500 companies would lose.
